Google Adsense Referrals is Retiring

Google is retiring the Adsense Referrals program with effect from the last week of August 2008.
Google said their Google Affiliate Network will permit publishers to apply for advertiser programs but get paid based on advertiser-defined actions, instead of clicks or impressions.
For those who are currently displaying Adsense Referrals program, the publisher is to replace them with Adsense for Content ads instead before end of August 2008.
If you are currently running a campaign, you may want to save all referrals reports on your desktop soonest possible before they are removed from their system.
Google said they want to focus on improving Adsense and drive better monetization results for their publishers in the long term, so they are retiring the Adsense Referrals program.

How to Break Your Own Fear Factor with a Metal Tip Arrow
I have learnt how to break my own fear factor with a metal tip arrow exercise over the weekend at the Millionaire Mind Training by T. Harv Eker in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Some of you may have done this breaking the arrow exercise at other motivation course and training but this was the first time for me.
I am not a fan of motivation seminars and training but I still went ahead to do this.
It started out with the helpers giving out 4,800 metal tip wood arrows to each of us. We were required to get in a group of tens. The group leader would help us to place the arrow tip on the softest part of the base of our throat. The arrow has to be held horizontally.
We are to stand with our right foot anchored to the ground and the left foot behind us to grip ourself firmly holding the arrow with both hands. Then I had to lean forward slowly until I broke the arrow into two or more parts.
It was the scariest exercise I have ever done in my life and was I scared sh*t out of my pants. (P/S: I did not ‘piss’ in it).
Oh …. we have to write one or two of our most feared factor on the tip of the arrow before we split the arrow into half.

May Ong at Millionaire Mind Intensive Seminar
I spent the last weekend at the Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar by T. Harv Eker at the Malaysia International Exhibition and Convention Centre beside the Mines Resort City in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I do not usually attend motivation seminars but I have friends who highly recommended to me to attend this three-day training on the psychology on the inner game of wealth and money.
I went there without any expectations and kept an open-mind. At the end of the 3rd day Millionaire Mind Intensive training, I went home feeling exhausted but surprisingly relaxed. The event starts from 8.00 am till 11.00 pm on day 1 and day 2. Luckily it ended at around 7pm on day 3.
I came away with some of my favorite Quotes from T. Harv Eker’s Millionaire Mind Intensive training:
“How you do anything is how you do everything”
I find this quote to be so true in its meaning. It simply reflects upon how each of us conducts ourselves in our daily lives and in work, how we deal with problems and solutions, how we treat others and how we do things generally.

Wordpress Blogging Seminar at Crystal Crown Hotel
Actually I have not been posting much here recently. I have been busy preparing my Wordpress Blogging Seminar on Saturday 4 August 2007 at the Crystal Crown Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
We have had a number of blogging seminars in July 2007 at a training center but we decided to try it out at a hotel this month. And so we did.
The turn out was rather unexpected. I made arrangements for 25 seats but we had more than 30 callers who registered via SMS. Steven presented on this day and I took the role of Registration. Majority of the attendees were over 30 years above but we had a few younger ones too.
Check out these pictures. And by the way, I will be having 2 blogging seminars per month and we advertise them in The Star Metro or The Sun papers. So look out for them now and then, if you want to attend.

Joel Bauer Persuasion Seminar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
I have just finished attending Joel Bauer’s Seminar on How To Persuaded People Who Don’t Want To Be Persuaded. If you want my opinion, I would say I was glad that I did not give this event a miss. I was pleased I attended and heard Joel Bauer spoke in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 6 May 2007.
Joel Bauer retired at the age of 31 years old and was born in 1960. He spends 5 days a week with his family and children and skies almost everyday. He lives in California. He has a wife and 3 kids.
Let me tell you what he shared. He shared a concept called Transformation Mechanism, that is to get people to change to get different or better results. He said “If we kept on doing things the way they were over and over again, we would only get the same results. But if we do things slightly differently, we might be able to change the outcome by a little or drastically.”
Change What You Are Doing and You Will Change The Result!
He also talks about Qualifying a Prospect at a party almost immediately and demonstrated how its being done live with a seminar participant. He showed us how to spot the difference between the two methods and how both end results were so different. He tested the audience reaction and we responded with a difference.
He shared what is called Doorway of Emotion, Pattern Recognition and linguistic psychology, the Art of Differentiation starting from our business cards, Value Proposition, Personal Branding techniques, Social Proof, and on and on, etc…
By the way, even Alex Mandossian, the Internet Marketing guru, mentored with Joel Bauer. Joe Polish, and many others in the United States of America. Joel will be returning to Singapore in September 2007 for 3 days but that is for his few chosen Protege Mentoring Bootcamp, at a cost of USD6,500 per person.

“Create Your First DIY Website” Workshop
I have just completed my 1-day hands-on “Create Your First DIY Website” Workshop at Womens’ Institute of Management (WIM), Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 18 April 2007. Thankfully, it has been a success with 12 students (full house). And we have been asked to conduct more of the same workshops on Saturdays, instead of having it on the weekday.
On that day, I went through the process of creating their first website using a DIY software called TotalWeb! Lite, which is based in Malaysia for the price of RM99.00 only for the first year.
The students went through the following process to set-up their websites:-
- How to pick a good Domain Name
- How to register a Domain Name. They have to allow up to 24 hours for this to go live before they can get access to it.
- How to pick a relevant Template for your website
- How to use the 4 types of pages provided ie. webpage, photo album, catalog and feedback form
- How to add in up to 25 pages and their placement within the website
- What content to put into these respective pages
- How to edit these content or delete the irrelevant pages
- How to add in external hyperlinks to other sites
- How to collect payment within Malaysia
I also touched on various online marketing concepts like affiliate marketing and shared other internet marketing tips. WIM has already expressed interest to hold more of this workshop later this year on weekends. So please register with me here online.

I wish to thank my students and WIM for supporting me in this workshop and making it a success.
Water Battle of Songkran Festival, Thailand
This is when the Water War begins. After water guns are filled to the top, by-standers would be sprayed ay anytime and anywhere on the streets and even at the lobby of your hotels. And Beware! Ice Cold Water that comes from plastic bowls and water guns!
The Thais have a tradition of wetting perfumed powder to mark the side of your cheeks with. It represents Good Luck for the New Year! Getting Wet on the New Year represents Cleansing and Blessing too.
