I attended Derek Gehl’s Ultimate Internet Entrepreneur Bootcamp and I must say, it is unfortunate that many newbies have given this event a miss, as he is not coming back so soon. You are looking at the next few years.
What has Derek covered in those 3 days?
Day 1 (AM): How to Find Niche Markets and the research required for this. KEI of min. 10 is a good indicator to start off with. How to Design a Website that sells (pretty websites do not sell) and Intro to Email Marketing and its importance.
Day 1 (PM): Affiliate Programs for link popularity, eBooks which is a good viral tool and Pay-Per-Click Search Engines and organic or natural search to get ranking.
Day 2 (AM): Traffic Strategies that attracts 1,000 qualified potential buyers to your web site, Direct-to-Desktop Techonology and web site Make-overs (before and after ‘look and feel’ of a web site).
Day 2 (PM): How to start an eBay Business to drive free traffic to your web site, Advanced Email Marketing for Profits and What Works right now currently.
Day 3 (AM): Blogging for $$, RSS Feeds and Podcasting (the next big thing) and Advanced Back End Strategies on your web site.At this Bootcamp, I have re-discovered that having a web site alone does not really build an online business at all. We need to have long-term plans to turn our web sites into ‘money- making’ machines i.e. ‘monitize’ web sites.
To turn these web sites into ‘money-making’ machines for us, we have to learn how to monitor and analyze our results on the performance of our web sites or web pages, then we ‘tweak’ these web pages by testing and re-testing strategies to make them work till we get satisfying results.
Learning how to use software tools to help us achieve our results is also important but you have to be smart at picking the right tools also. This is when we learn how to automate the online business and let it run all on its own.
