Learn Web Creation and Web Optimization on videos
I have just joined in this video membership site by my friend, Steven Wong. In fact, he has just launched this in March 2007, and I was one of his first few privileged reviewers.
What I like most about this site are the videos on Website Creation and Website Optimization. This section is most suitable for newbies or beginners into internet marketing. Even I find these videos very resourceful and helpful.
You may know that I am not “technical savy†so watching and learning how to set-up certain tasks on video makes it so much easier for me. At least I do not have bottle-necks now or get stuck somewhere in the process of setting up my websites now. And I do not have to read so many notes before I start a new task. Although I have to spend time sitting down to watch each sections of the video, but I felt I benefited a lot, from the technical point of view.

Optimize your Brain to Become Smarter
Recently, I discovered a “secret” to enhance memory capability and boost mental absorbency and accelerate overall intelligence.
“What is all this mumbo jumbo about, May?”
Well here it is.
I have been using this for about a week now. We were supposed to listen to this brain wave audio CD for about 20 minutes daily and lengthen the listening time period to 60 minutes daily. So I did. It was just sounds of some kind of wave.
Anyway, before I listened to this, my mind was always unfocused, if you know what I mean. I always seemed to have many things to do but have not been able to prioritize them. In the end, I ended up doing unproductive things. This goes on daily.
So, after listening to this audio CD for about a week now, I noticed certain improvements in me.
I was able to get into deeper sleep, was able to absorb more of what I have read, clearer thoughts and improved temperament.

Make Money from Google Adsense
Armand Morin told us once that one of the fastest ways to make money online for newbies or beginners is to put up a Blog and apply for Google Adsense, to make money from advertisement when visitors click on them in their web page.
I did not even think of giving second thoughts. I went ahead and bought one particular e-book to learn how to make money from Google Adsense. A good friend of mine told me he makes $10.00 on average a month from each of his blogs and he has more than 10 blogs and building more. This system has worked for him.
I tested out the system, and it worked. I am on my way to receive my first check for $100.56 from one of my blogs last month.
Don’t believe me? Try it out for yourself to prove me wrong. For more info, go to Get Google Adsense.

Basic Internet Marketing Tip for Beginners
I would like to share some basic internet marketing tips for beginners stepping into the internet marketing world for the first time. This experience is what I have personally been through and observed of others as well through personal consultation.
a. Before registering into an internet marketing course, do some basic background research yourself into the subject of ‘What is Internet Marketing?’ It is basically marketing on the internet or marketing online. In layman’s terms, it is also translating your offline strategies into online strategies. Of course, there will be slight rules to market online. Get a general feel of this industry first.
b. Take some time off your busy working schedule to visit some well-established ‘gurus’ website. Sign up for their Free e-Newsletters or Free e-Course and observed emails coming through your Inbox. Study how they communicate with you.
c. Be warned out there, many call themselves ‘gurus’ who writes eloquent sales letters who seduces you into a purchase or try out their products. Hang in there till you know who you want to buy your e-books or services from. If the e-book or services come highly recommended, then consider investing in them and try it out.
d. Thereafter, sign up to attend a few internet marketing course from well-established internet marketing ‘gurus’ who are reputable in the internet marketing industry. Why do I say, attend a few rather than only 1? Each ‘guru’ have their own areas of expertise. So know what that ‘guru’ is well-verse in.
e. After attending an internet marketing course, go back and read more, do more research into strategies the ‘guru’ shared and try out those strategies.
f. TAKE MASSIVE ACTION! Many beginners do not have the confidence to even start taking the first step forward. What do I mean by that? Either they do not know where to start or are afraid to start.
g. Start by getting familiar with the internet by doing a lot of research surfing the web and reading other people’s blogs, online news, websites, shopping and so on.
h. Start with something that are Free! I do not mean using Free domain name or hosting services. I meant try out setting up your own Blog through Blogger or Wordpress. Post an article in your own blog. Add a picture of yourself in it. Watch how a blog works.
i. Click on the Menus on top in the Blog and discover what each Menu can do for you. Follow the instructions and read it carefully. If you did not understand it once, read it twice!
j. If you are braver, try out creating your first web page or web site using Microsoft Frontpage or Dreamweaver.
k. Lastly, register an account with Google Adsense and learn how to learn how to generate some income from publishing content in your blog or web page.
Remember, many of these tools are Free on the internet for you to explore with. So do not procrastinate and Take Action! Try them out to get familiar with how these tools work to your advantage. At least, this will get you started on your first foot step into the internet marketing world.
What is Internet or Online Marketing?
Internet Marketing is marketing online via the internet.
Internet marketing is the use of the Internet to advertise and sell goods and services. Internet Marketing includes pay per click advertising, banner ads, e-mail marketing, affiliate marketing, interactive advertising, search engine marketing (including search engine optimization), blog marketing, article marketing, and blogging. (www.wikipedia.org)
You can apply your Offline business strategies into your Online business. You can also use similar business models. Offline and online strategies can interchange.
Many beginners I come across gets the impression that you can start an online business on a part-time basis. The answer is a Yes and a No. It is a ‘chicken and egg’ situation.
Starting an Online business is easy. With very little initial investment, you can get a domain name, a hosting service and a standard template for your website.
However, building your online business into a profit generating mechanism requires time, effort and more monetary investment into information, services and tools to assist in your online business.
Just like in an Offline retail business, you are required to set-up a shop front, pay rental, purchase holding stock, hire manpower and purchase equipment to operate this type of business. Also note in an offline business, you are required to project between 1 to 3 years to recover back your initial investment.
So starting off with a web site is only the first basic tool you are required to do when you start off initially. Building this website into a ‘money-making machine’ requires investment of a lot more of your time, more effort to put into research, testing and tweaking various marketing strategies using appropriate marketing tools. All these involve time, effort and investment from you, just like building any offline business.
Difference between Online Marketing Objectives, Strategies and Tactics
So can anybody tell what is the difference between marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics and how does each insure that your marketing is effective and gets results?
MARKETING OBJECTIVES are what you ultimately want your marketing to do for your business. In other words, what role does marketing play in the success of your business? Marketing objectives usually describe the number of customers you want, sources of revenue, and market share, just to name a few.
Take an Example: This XYZ organization had two objectives:
1. To double their membership in 2006.
2. To increase the percent of members who own small businesses offline.
MARKETING STRATEGY describes how you will use your money, time, people, and other resources to achieve your objectives. Some of the issues addressed by marketing strategy are: What markets do we want to be in? How will we reach our audience? What products and services will you offer? How do you want to stand out in the minds of your customers?
Take another Example: An issue that came up again and again for XYZ organization was “It’s difficult to describe what makes us different from others.” We had been trying but we just could not say it in ten words or less. On the other hand, everyone agreed “When the organization is right for someone, they almost always sign up after attending one of our events.” That is, experience with the group is one of their best marketing tools.
From a strategic standpoint, this meant:
1. Don’t spend time and money on approaches that require strong copywriting to be effective. This meant putting on hold any major changes to the website.
2. Time and resources should be focused on encouraging prospective visitors to either attend a live event or to give away part of your product a try.
To encourage prospects to attend a live event, XYZ organization should asked current members to invite people in their networks who were likely to appreciate what the organization had to offer-essentially. They chose a word-of-mouth marketing strategy to grow the membership in XYZ organization.
MARKETING TACTICS are the specific activities you do to fulfill your strategy.
Take another Example: Once they decided to focus on word of mouth marketing (as opposed to changing the website or redoing the brochure) this organization needed to come up with activities members could do. They created a simple “outreach” card which listed membership benefits, where to go for event information, contact information, and a coupon that gave a $20 discount to first time visitors.
Next they distributed cards with an emphasis on getting cards to members who tended to be “connectors” (people who had broad, diverse contact networks and who were enthusiastic proponents of group).
Other examples of established Online Marketing Tactics available are pay-per-click, banner ads, joint ventures, classifieds, article writing and so on.
Summarizing two final points here:
1. The Chinese general and philosopher, Sun Tzu said, “Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat”.
To get results from your marketing, you need to employ strategies AND tactics. Companies that tend to get bogged in “analysis paralysis” are those that have good strategy ideas but fall short when it comes to executing tactics. Companies that overly emphasize tactics tend to “spray and pray”; by implementing random marketing activities that don’t support and reinforce one another. Without appropriate balance between strategies and tactics, you are likely to be wasting your marketing dollars.
2. It’s more important to set marketing objectives and strategies that you’ll use than it is to create ones that are profound and/or impressive. If your marketing objectives and
strategy are three sentences written on a legal pad, fine. As long as they support your goals for developing your business and as long as you take action to put your strategy into practice.
